An email from Kerry Patton upon receiving the latest shipment of gift boxes for our troops:

Major General (Ret) and Mrs. Paul Vallely have graciously sent 3 large boxes to my organization here in Afghanistan. We received them today. They were filled with essential items that the soldiers here we work with flocked to in order to get some needed items such as toothpaste, some Mag Lights, loads of snacks, soap, wet wipes, some T-shirts, baby powder, coffee, you name it!
I could only imagine how much it costs to put these together and ship out. These boxes were huge and we basically only have one left to continue to hand out! We took some items out that we knew would be huge hits for the kids here in Afghanistan like some TY Beanie Babies, note pads, etc. Other than that, we opened our door to our office, sent out a mass e-mail to some folks we know on the FOB here, and invited whomever to show up and raid to take whatever they wanted.
All I ask is that you all go to his web site listed below, look at it, see what it’s about, and if you feel Patriotic enough go ahead and do the right thing. When you are done, I ask that you all forward this to everyone you know to assist with such a wonderful and worthy cause. Whether you are for this war or not, we all are for the men and women who ensure our freedoms every day by committing themselves the way they do daily.
God Bless!
Kerry

By supporting the Scott Vallely Soldiers Memorial Fund (SVSMF), you will be supporting our "Warriors" who are serving and will be serving our country across the globe. Through the donations to the SVSMF, we are able to directly fund leadership awards to high school and college graduates who are going directly into military service from school. These awards are typically $1,000 cash awards. The entire network of people and organizations team up throughout the
year to send gift packages to members of the armed forces serving downrange in combat zones. Other new programs that have been developed and where additional contributions are made
are to needy Veterans and their families usually accomplished through established Veteran
organizations.
Please let us know through this web site of any programs or members of the Armed Forces who we can help or provide assistance. We need your donations continually to support all of our programs so please let others know about our fund and how they can participate.
